Welcome U15 Parents!

Welcome and/or welcome back to Cranbrook Minor Hockey for the 2024-2025 season!

 

*For children born in 2011 and 2010 (Must be turning 13 or 14 on or before Dec 31st 2024)

*Full hockey gear is required 

-Helmet (labelled with last name on it; something as simple as a piece of tape and a sharpie works!!)

-Mouth Guard

-Neck Guard

-Shoulder Pads

-Elbow Pads

-Hockey Gloves

-Athletic Cup

-Hockey Pants

-Shin Pads

-Skates

-Stick

-Hockey Bag

-**Mouth guards are NOT required at this age group 

-Water bottle -with extended spout is very helpful so they can hydrate through their helmet as they cannot be removed on the ice.

It is a good idea to label their gear

 

 *Hockey jerseys will be provided at the beginning of the season and NEED TO BE RETURNED TO YOUR MANAGER at the end of the season.
 
*Any name bars added need to be removed- do not silk screen names on to jerseys.
 
*If the jersey is lost or damaged you may be required to pay for the replacement. 
 
*Socks are typically not provided and will need to be purchased at an additional cost- team manager will make these arrangments  
 
 
 
*The season typically starts mid October and ends mid March
 
*U15 is part of the EK League- this will consist of a teiring tournament in October (date and location TBD each year by the EK league) as well as league play throughout the season and then a banner tournament in March (date and location TBD by Ek League). Travel will be required for the games typically to Fernie, Elkford, Creston, Invemere, Golden and Whitefish-please have your travel documents ready!
 
**EK schedule will be created after the tiering tournament. For details on the EK structure, click Here or visit the Managers Hub of our website.
 
*In addition to the above EK league tournaments and games, teams can also participate in TWO out of town tournaments per season as well as host one home tournament if ice allows. They can also attend the Kimberley tournament as a second 'home' tournament. 
 
 
**Recreation hockey is meant to be affordable and accessible for all familes - please keep this in mind when choosing the locations for out of town tournaments and games**
 
*Fees for any exhibition games scheduled outside the previously alloted ice time is to be paid by hosting team. 
 
*Each away tournament will have a fee that will be paid by the attending teams, divided by # of players attending. 
 
*U15 can also request to host a home tournament if ice allows
 
*Parents are expected to volunteer for check in, clock/score keeping and other roles (fundraising, concession, raffle table, 50/50) during games and tournaments as needed

*Coaches and managers will use TeamSnap to communicate to parents so please download this app. An invite will be sent out via email to join your childs team once selected.
