Welcome U11 Parents!
Welcome and/or welcome back to Cranbrook Minor Hockey for the 2023-2024 season!
*For children born in 2013 and 2014 (Must be turning 9 or 10 on or before Dec 31st 2023)
*Full hockey gear is required
-Helmet (labelled with last name on it; something as simple as a piece of tape and a sharpie works!!)
-Mouth Guard
-Neck Guard
-Shoulder Pads
-Elbow Pads
-Hockey Gloves
-Athletic Cup
-Hockey Pants
-Shin Pads
-Skates
-Stick
-Hockey Bag
-Water bottle -with extended spout is very helpful so they can hydrate through their helmet as they cannot be removed on the ice.
It is a good idea to label their gear
*Atom is sponsored by McDonalds and they will provide hockey at the beginning of the season- they are yours to keep!
*Socks are typically not provided and will need to be purchased at an additional cost- team manager will make these arrangments
*The season typically starts mid October and ends mid March
*Parents are expected to volunteer for score keeping when needed
*Teams can participate in TWO out of town tournaments per season as well as host one home tournament.
*Away tournaments will be decided by coaches/managers and information forwarded to the parents as available. The cost for tournaments varies and is separate from the initial registration fees.
*Cranbrook hosts a home tournament for the atom division. Parents are expected to volunteer for fundraising, concession, raffle table, 50/50 and score keeping.
*Typically 2 ice times per week. Practice/Practice or Practice/Game.
*Days and times may rotate on a monthly basis and will be communicated to you through your team manager
*U11 is typically part of the EK League. The schedule for games will become available in usually in late September/early October and forwarded to the parents prior to the start of the City League
