We would like to introduce the following nominations that we have had thus far for election or re-election to our board!
April 24th- New Nomination!
My name is Shaun Fox and I would like to put forth my application for nomination to the CMHA Board of Directors. I have been a part of Cranbrook Minor Hockey for the past 3 seasons with my son currently going into second year U9. During these 3 seasons I have had the pleasure of coaching in Assistant, and Head Coach roles. During these past seasons I have learned many skills required to make a positive impact for the kids in this sport. I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of a great group of parents, coaches and of course the kids over these seasons.
Our sport has the ability to provide a great experience for our children to grow up gaining valuable skills in teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship, and life skills. My goal as a coach in this sport is to help the players develop these skills while learning and developing their hockey skills.
I believe it is important to have a strong hockey board to provide guidance and insight to help achieve these goals. As a board, we also ensure that appropriate policies, and procedures are in place and followed by our association. This helps to ensure our players are getting the most out of our league and are staying competitive and up to date with other leagues as well.
Skill Development in players at all ages is an important part of the board. Having input in the development of these skills is something that is important to me.
I believe that my background in various management positions in the forest industry has afforded me a wealth of experience with policy, cost management, and relating with various stake holder groups. Having 20 years of labor management experience helps to be able to relate and to understand concerns and deal with conflict management. It also has given me the ability to keep people informed by various means of communication.
I believe I would be an asset to this CMHA Board and look forward to the coming season. Thankyou.
Shaun Fox
