We Are Hiring!
Hello all,
It is with some sadness that we are announcing that Nicky Heiz will be stepping down as CMHA’s Registrar. A huge thank you to Nicky for all of her hard work over the past year! We wish you the best with your new adventures!
With that said, CMHA is now seeking a new Registrar. Rather than requiring the position to be filled by just one person, CMHA is prepared to split the role into two roles, being Ice Scheduler and Registrar. Candidates can apply for one or both roles, depending on their preference. CMHA is happy to have one person filling both roles, if the right person applies, or have people fill each role separately.
Responsibilities for the Ice Scheduler position include:
• Scheduling ice times throughout the CMHA season with the City Of Cranbrook
• Scheduling ice for league games & tournaments and obtaining sanction numbers for those tournaments.
• Handling and submitting Travel Permits.
• Assisting with the organization of rep tryouts and house evaluations.
• Otherwise assisting the Registrar where needed. Responsibilities for the
Registrar position include:
• Answering questions and generally dealing with the membership on a day-to-day basis.
• Organizing and overseeing registration of players into CMHA.
• Creating team rosters for Hockey Canada and within TeamSnap once teams are finalized.
• Handling and submitting Player Relief Applications.
• Invoicing for ice time, referees, etc. for both CMHA and EK teams.
• Banking for the Association.
• Being the central contact with our membership and with the EK.
• Assisting the Coach Coordinator to ensure that all coaches obtain the required credentials.
• Assisting with organization of concussion testing early in the season.
• And more . . .
The Ice Scheduler/Registrar positions are the only paid positions within CMHA. CMHA expects the Ice Scheduler role to take approximately 10 hours per week, while the Registrar role will take approximately 25 hours per week. Hourly wages are negotiable. Hours are flexible and these positions have the added benefit of being able to work from home.
There are no major requirements to apply, though some computer knowledge and strong communication skills would be expected.
Nicky has generously offered to help with training of the new Ice Scheduler/Registrar and I know that she’ll make herself available as needed to answer questions and assist where needed.
Obviously, these are extremely important positions within our Association, so we’re seeking the “right” people to fill these roles. We would like to fill the positions by May 1st, at the latest. If interested, or if you know someone that may be interested, please email me at
cmhapresident20@gmail.com. Please include your Resume/CV. Thank you again to Nicky and thank you to all of you for your assistance in “spreading the word” and helping us fill this very important position!
