Restrictions to Spectators in City of Cranbrook and Kimberley Rinks

Oct. 22, 2020

Well the news that most of us have been expecting has dropped, and effective immediately, we are no longer allowed spectators into the arenas to watch hockey (practices or games) in Cranbrook or Kimberley. So this means that the one parent that was allowed in previously, can no longer enter the rink.

These are orders that were put in place for the City of Cranbrook and Kimberley for their facilities as per the Provincial Health Order

While this was news that none of us were hoping for, we still believe that the children can have a great year, albeit a little different than normal! Let's keep in mind the greater picture, which is just about the kids having fun and being able to be out there playing a game they love with their buddies
We are currently working on some live streaming options

We know it's not ideal as us on the board are all parents too and wish we could watch our kids as well. Please be assured we are now, and have been for months, working tirelessly to continue communication with the city, and all our governing bodies to make hockey the best we can this season.

Our CMHA board and the City of Cranbrook are meeting to discuss this recent change resulting in spectator restriction. Our two groups will work together in an effort to find solutions for some of the recent concerns brought forward by our membership.

We thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility this season. As we know that these are trying times for everyone and things shift on a dime.
